Village board bans parking garage EV chargers
An Illinois community is halting the installation of electric vehicle charging stations inside parking structures following a fire.
An EV burst into flames last year while charging in a garage at the Fashions Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours. Repairs have since been made, but the Rosemont Village Board voted for a temporary ban of the installation of charging stations in parking garages.
Snoop Dog to perform at State Fair
American rapper, singer and songwriter Snoop Dog will perform at the Illinois State Fair Wednesday, Aug. 13.
In addition to his extensive work in music, with hits like "Gin & Juice" and "Drop it Like it’s Hot" to his new album "Missionary," Snoop Dogg is a serial entrepreneur with endeavors in Web 3.0, tech, entertainment, global consumer brands and cannabis industries.
Tickets for Snoop Dogg start at $85 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15.
Chicago among best for St. Patrick's Day
A new study shows that Chicago is one of the best cities in the country to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
To determine the best cities for celebrating Irish-American heritage, the personal finance website WalletHub compared 200 of the largest U.S. cities across 15 key metrics, ranging from Irish pubs and restaurants per capita to the lowest price for a three-star hotel.
Chicago was ranked as the sixth best city. The top spot went to Boston.
